Last weekend, I had the privilege of attending the Lamar University Centennial Celebration with my
wife Ashley and my daughter Kate. It was a wonderful event that showcased the history, achievements, and diversity of the university and its community. I was especially impressed by the exhibits, performances, and speeches that highlighted the contributions of Lamar alumni and faculty to various fields of science, engineering, arts, and humanities. As a heavy machine operator, I have always admired the work of engineers and scientists who design and build the machines that make our lives easier and safer. I have also witnessed the challenges and opportunities that come with the rapid development of technology and industry in our region.
My experience as a student at Lamar University has also inspired me to serve my community in a new way. I have seen how the university has been a catalyst for positive change and innovation in our region, and I want to be a part of that. That is why I am announcing today that I am running for county commissioner in the upcoming election.
As a county commissioner, I will work hard to bring more resources and opportunities to our community. I will advocate for better infrastructure, education, health care, and environmental protection. I will also support the growth and development of local businesses and industries, especially those that are related to engineering and technology. I believe that by working together, we can make our county a better place to live, work, and learn.
I hope that you will join me in this journey and support my campaign. I invite you to visit my website willis4one.com to learn more about me and my platform.
